Integrated Waste Management

More efficient and green disposal of pollution that can be detrimental to human health and ecosystems

Household Daily Waste

Integrated waste management is a systematic approach to managing waste in a responsible and environmentally friendly way. It involves reducing, reusing, and recycling waste to reduce its negative impact on the environment.

    Community Engagement
  • Raising awareness of waste issues, creating a cleaner environment, creating job opportunities, and promoting shared responsibility for the environment.
    Practical Ethics
  • involving public safety, clear communication, ensuring benefits to all parties, and integrating sustainable development principles to protect natural resources.

EXISTING ISSUES IN FELDA

Non-standard waste collection in all FELDA settlements
Waste storage methods vary throughout FELDA settlements (Portable Trash Bins, boxes, non-standard bins, etc)
Recycling activities are limited and isolated to specific individuals in the community.
The frequency and schedule of collection often change which causes residents to dump waste in the surrounding area
The prevalence of open landfills near residential areas. Some areas use digging holes to fill in waste
Open burning is rampant in some areas and unburned excess waste causes odour pollution
Unsafe waste disposal leads to environmental pollution and the threat of enforcement action by government agencies
GHG (methane, CO2) emissions from landfill activities
We offer solutions that include controlled waste collection, pre-sorting of recyclables and food waste, organic waste treatment as well as waste waste. Our approach is in line with FELDA's goal of achieving zero waste, ensuring safe and sustainable waste management through innovative technologies.

Service Recommendations

Standard Collection Service

Using EV Compactor Trucks for waste collection with properly scheduled collection and adhering to industry standards. Proper handling and safe transportation of domestic waste to the treatment site

Recycling Materials Recovery and Food Waste Treatment

Pre-segregation of recycled materials and food waste for further treatment and stimulates the potential of the secondary market. Food waste treatment by composting / Black Soldier Fly

Waste treatment by Eco Ember - Micro Combustion System

Waste is treated by Eco Ember - Micro Incineration System (Mini Incinerator) which burns waste in a controlled environment.

Proposed Implementation of The Business Model

Proof of Concept in 1 Cluster

SF will provide Integrated Waste Management Services in areas facing immediate enforcement action by government agencies for a period of 3 months

Waste Management Fees

The implementation of the contract will be charged based on the existing budget allocated by FELDA for waste management (RM 15 to RM20/house/month)

Long-term service concessions

The POC will act as a Condition Precedent (CP) to implement the proposed Integrated Waste Management Concession for at least 7 years with FELDA nationwide.

Unlocking Potential through a Circular Economy

    Current operation
  • FELDA is currently facing the cost of disposal for used tyres, which can be a huge expense. The current approach of either paying a third party to dispose of it or worse dumping it in a landfill is highly unsustainable and environmentally damaging
    Chance
  • By practicing the principle of economic circularity, FELDA can transform waste into valuable resources, creating new business opportunities in the recycling sector. There is also the potential to develop FELDA-branded recycled oil products, which can generate additional income streams.
